Radio Sureste Cope (https://www.facebook.com/88.3FM) came to San Miguel this morning, and some of us had the opportunity to be interviewed about our local businesses. It was quite nerve-wracking, and I´m sure I probably fluffed my lines a bit, but the main thing was that the town and all it has to offer had exposure on a big regional radio station, coming live from our newly-remodelled church square. The town hall also interviewed everyone that went on the radio for their own Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ayuntamientosanmiguel) and it´s nice to see that there are several initiatives ongoing at the moment to help boost the local economy (for example they will soon be launching a free scratch card promotion where you can win vouchers for your favourite San Miguel shops, worth 30,000 euros in total!) A new local commercial association is also starting up, where we can share ideas about how to help our local businesses grow. I think Geli from Allianz insurance is going to be the president, and knowing her as well as I do, I´m sure she will make a great success of it!
