Last Saturday was a BIG day for Welly (you may know her as Sorelle, one third of the Villas Fox team!), as months of preparation came to fruition at the Lincoln (UK) charity run for cancer research.
Sorelle signed up for the race following the sad passing of her dear dad Ray in March of this year, with the aim of raising as much money as possible in Ray´s memory. But just 2 weeks ago my own dad George also died from cancer unexpectedly, and Sorelle decided to dedicate her run to both our dads.
It was a very emotional day, as Sorelle joined hundreds of other runners with similar goals, and although Ollie and I weren´t able to be there, she was supported by many of her close family and friends on the day, including Sorelle´s mum Sandra.
On the day, Sorelle was determined to better all her efforts in training, and was able to complete the race running all the way, in a time that allowed them all to get to the pub afterwards for a celebratory (and well-deserved) pint or two of cider!
Sorelle raised over 1,500 pounds !!! including gift aid, and although the final total for the race has not yet been announced, the same event last year raised over 58,000 pounds for Cancer Research UK !! A big THANK YOU, to everyone who gave so generously, whatever the amount.
Needless to say, we´re all very pround of Sorelle´s achievement, and it was a great way to honour two fine gentlemen who we will all miss very much, and we have so much to be thankful for.
Here´s to Ray and George. Gone, but not forgotten xxxx

¡Hola! Voy a presentarme. Me llamo Emma y soy una estudiante belga de comercio exterior. Actualmente estoy en Villas Fox realizando un período de prácticas de un mes para aprender y mejorar mi nivel de español. En la agencia, me encargo de la cuenta de TikTok y creo vídeos para promocionar casas y apartamentos. Durante estas prácticas vivo en San Miguel de Salinas porque mis padres tienen una casa aquí. Es un pueblo que me gusta mucho porque hay muchas cosas que hacer. Desde que tengo una casa aquí en San Miguel, he descubierto muchos lugares que me gustan y que me gustaría recomendar. Estas son algunas de mis recomendaciones personales para disfrutar de la zona. Me encanta ir a restaurantes como Mesón El Prado. También me gusta pasear por el mercado de San Miguel de Salinas, que tiene lugar todos los miércoles. Además, hay el Castillo de San Miguel, un sitio muy bonito. Se puede pasear por los alrededores del castillo, donde hay animales, y es un lugar muy tranquilo y relajante.
Los alrededores de San Miguel de Salinas también son muy atractivos. Me gusta ir a La Fuente y al restaurante Isabela’s Italian, que es un muy buen restaurante italiano donde se come muy bien. También hay la zona de Punta Prima, que me gusta mucho. El restaurante La Carne Piedra es un restaurante de carne que recomiendo para los amantes de la carne. También el Restaurante Punta Prima es un restaurante de primera categoría, con un menú increíble.
Me gusta mucho ir a la playa. Me gustan especialmente la playa de Glea, en Dehesa de Campoamor, y la playa de La Mata. La isla de Tabarca también es un lugar muy bonito. Se puede tomar un barco para ir a la isla y lo recomiendo para hacer snorkel. Se pueden ver peces o delfines.
Además, el embalse de La Pedrera es un lugar increíble. Es mejor ir cuando hace sol, porque el color del agua es de un azul turquesa magnífico. Por último, el Puerto de la Torre es un lugar muy bonito y agradable para comer o tomar una copa.
Hello! Let me introduce myself. My name is Emma, and I'm a Belgian international business student. I'm currently doing a one-month internship at Villas Fox to learn and improve my Spanish. At the agency, I manage the TikTok account and create videos to promote houses and apartments. During my internship, I'm staying in San Miguel de Salinas because my parents have a house here. It's a town I really like because there's so much to do. Since moving to San Miguel, I've discovered many places I love and would like to recommend. Here are some of my personal recommendations for enjoying the area. I love going to restaurants like Mesón El Prado. I also enjoy strolling through the San Miguel de Salinas market, which takes place every Wednesday. There's also the Castillo de San Miguel, a very beautiful place. You can walk around the castle grounds, where you'll find animals, and it's a very peaceful and relaxing spot.
The area around San Miguel de Salinas is also very attractive. I like going to La Fuente and Isabela's Italian restaurant, which is a very good Italian restaurant where the food is excellent. There's also the Punta Prima area, which I really like. La Carne Piedra is a steakhouse that I recommend for meat lovers. Punta Prima Restaurant is also a top-notch restaurant with an incredible menu.
I really enjoy going to the beach. I especially like Glea Beach in Dehesa de Campoamor and La Mata Beach. Tabarca Island is also a very beautiful place. You can take a boat to the island, and I recommend it for snorkeling. You can see fish or dolphins.
Also, La Pedrera Reservoir is an amazing place. It's best to go when it's sunny because the water is a magnificent turquoise blue. Finally, Puerto de la Torre is a very beautiful and pleasant place to eat or have a drink.
